SDM for KSU

About SDM

Who we are, what we stand for, and why we believe students deserve better.

Who We Are

A Student Movement With Purpose

Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM) is a student political movement at the University of Malta. We are affiliated with the values of Christian democracy — a tradition that places human dignity, solidarity, and the common good at the centre of political action.

SDM was founded on the belief that student representation should be principled, inclusive, and genuinely committed to improving the lives of every student. We are not here to simply occupy positions — we are here to make a difference.

Through years of consistent advocacy, SDM has built a reputation for honest, constructive engagement with University authorities. We work with the institution where possible and hold it accountable where necessary.

Our Mission

“To serve, represent, and empower every student at the University of Malta — with integrity, solidarity, and genuine commitment.”

"Flimkien, Għalina Kollha" is more than our slogan. It reflects the kind of KSU we believe in: one that brings students together, listens to them, and works with purpose to deliver real results.

This team was built with great care, ambition, and confidence in what it can achieve. We genuinely believe these 12 candidates are the right people to represent students, strengthen KSU, and make it more active, approachable, and connected to the student body.

This campaign is about more than proposals. It is about people. It is about building a better university experience through commitment, community, and trust. We want students to feel confident approaching us, speaking up, and knowing they will be heard. A council without its community is nothing, and the strength of this team depends on the students it represents.

This journey is about building a better university experience for everyone. Through your ideas, your involvement, and your support, you have a direct role in shaping what comes next. Engage with us, work with us, and trust us to deliver.

Together, we can make a real difference.

Christian Democracy

Rooted in the principles of human dignity, subsidiarity, and the common good, SDM brings a tradition of ethical, values-led politics to student representation.

Solidarity

We believe every student deserves support. SDM works to ensure no student is left behind — regardless of their background, faculty, or circumstances.

Excellence

From academic standards to the quality of campus life, SDM pushes for continuous improvement and holds the University accountable to its students.

Openness

Malta's students deserve a global perspective. We champion international exchange, diverse voices, and an outward-looking University community.

Academic Freedom

We defend the right of every student to learn, question, and grow in an environment free from undue pressure and institutional interference.

Genuine Welfare

Beyond policies, SDM cares about students as people. Our welfare commitments are real, funded, and built around what students actually need.
